Lawyer files suit to ban Brotherhood activity in Alexandria

A lawsuit requesting the suspension of all Muslim Brotherhood activity in Alexandria has been been passed from the Judicial Administrative Court to the state commissioners for consideration of its legality.

Ali al-Qastawy, the lawyer who filed the lawsuit, said the group was dissolved by Egypt’s Revolutionary Council in 1955, and thus has no right to operate.

He said that the group did not apply for its re-establishment since the fall of Hosni Mubarak because it hoped to conceal its funds and its international affiliations from the supervisory authorities.
