King Khufu’s First Boat to be transferred to Grand Egyptian Museum

The world’s longest and most modern Belgian-made trailer truck will transport King Khufu’s first sun boat from south of the Great Pyramid to the Grand Egyptian Museum.

The 96-tire trailer has been placed near the boat in preparation for its movement.

The boat is about 4,500 years old and stands at 43 meters long and almost six meters wide. It was discovered by the Egyptian archaeologist and journalist writer Kamal al-Malakh in 1954 AD.

There have been rumors that a ceremony as grand as the transfer of the mummies to the new Museum of National Egyptian Civilization will be planned for the boat’s transfer.
