Khartoum hosts quadripartite meeting

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and the head of Egypt’s General Intelligence Service (GIS), Abbas Kamel, headed on Thursday to the Sudanese capital Khartoum to participate in the quadripartite meeting of the foreign ministers and heads of the intelligence services in Egypt and Sudan.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafiz said the visit is also expected to witness a bilateral meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries.

Hafiz pointed out that these meetings come within the framework of continuous communication between the two sides at all levels and in light of the directives of the leaderships of the two countries to support and develop bilateral relations in all fields.

The spokesman noted that the meetings will address all aspects of joint cooperation between the two countries and follow up on the implementation of the results of the Egyptian-Sudanese Presidential Committee in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum headed by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir in October 2018 in order to enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries to meet the expectations of the peoples of both brotherly countries.
