Giza Criminal Court decided to postpone hearing the Kerdasa Massacre case that took place after the dispersal of the Rabaa al-Adaweya and al-Nahda squares, in which 188 defendants are charged, pending a decision on a request to replace the court.
The defendants are accused of storming Kerdasa police station last August and killing and mutilating the bodies of 11 police officers and two civilians who happened to be present in the area.
They are also accused of attempting to kill 10 other members of the police force, damaging the station, burning police vehicles and possessing firearms.
Last week, twelve people were referred to the grand mufti to approve their death sentence for killing a senior police officer during a raid against terrorist elements involved in the massacre.
