Assem al-Gohary, head of the Illicit Gains Authority (IGA), postponed questioning Gamal and Alaa Mubarak until next Monday.
A statement issued by the IGA, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Justice, attributed the postponement to the fact that the defendants' lawyer, Farid al-Deeb, had to be present at the same time he was with the former Interior Minister’s wife while she was being questioned.
The IGA had decided to start questioning Alaa and continue questioning Gamal, on charges of abusing authority for their own profit, on Sunday.
Alaa’s wealth includes LE200 million in Egyptian banks, 1000 acres in the Wadi al-Natrun area in Beheira Governorate, two palaces in Heliopolis, four villas in the Ismailia and Sharm el-Sheikh governorates, and hundreds of thousands of plots of land nationwide. Investigators are expected to show Alaa reports that prove this.
