A private Jordanian yacht sank off the coast of Al-Tor in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula on Wednesday after striking a coral reef in a restricted area.
The boat's hull was badly damaged by the corals, causing it to sink in less than five minutes.
The Egyptian Coast Guard managed to rescue the crew, which consisted of a Lebanese national and two Jordanians.
“Crew members are now in hospital and in stable condition,” said Adel Kassab, director of Egypt's Crisis Management Department.
“We have also requested that the public prosecutor open an investigation into the incident and inform crew members' respective embassies," he added.
