Jordanian politicians to MENA: Egypt, Jordan work to end war on Gaza, avoid regional escalation

AMMAN, Oct 10 (MENA) – Jordanian politicians said that Egypt and Jordan are working toward halting the war on Gaza and preventing the escalation and promoting peace, security and stability in the region.

The Jordanian politicians, in exclusive statements to MENA, said that Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi’s visit to Egypt and meeting with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi comes at a critical time for the region.

The politicians highlighted president Sisi’s affirmation of the strength of relations between Egypt and Jordan, deeming it a testament for the high-level coordination between the two countries regarding Arab issues, topped by the Palestinian cause.

Al Ansar Jordanian Party Secretary General Awni Rajoub said that Egypt and Jordan are exerting strenuous efforts to put an end to the Israeli assault on Gaza and ensure the unobstructed delivery of assistance to the enclave.

Rajoub added that president Sisi and Jordanian King Abdullah II have repeatedly warned of escalation in the region and expanding the scale of the conflict.

He emphasized the importance of rallying Arab and international efforts to halt this dangerous escalation and Israel’s ongoing assaults.

Egypt and Jordan are sharing similar views regarding Arab issues, most particularly the current escalation in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, Rajoub said, adding these shared views underscore the strength of strategic relations between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Alnahj Aljadeed Party Secretary General Fawzan Fahd al Baqour said that messages conveyed by president Sisi to Safadi emphasize the strength of Egyptian-Jordanian relations and the maintained coordination between the two sides amid these exacerbating circumstances in the region. (MENA)
