President of the Italian Confederation for Economic Development Jose Romano announced that the Italian government will organize the first conference and exhibition for Italian companies in Rome to discuss investment opportunities in Egypt.
During a meeting with the Head of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish and Minister of Military Production Mohammed al-Assar, Romano praised the Italian delegation’s visit to Egypt and discussed the establishment of an Italian economic zone in East Port Said, and the confederation’s partnership with the Industrial Development Group (IDG) SAMCRETE in East Port Said.
Romano added that the delegation also discussed the establishment of a waste factory for recycling, and investment in food chains and commercial malls.
He said that the “Confederation is the largest economic entity in the world, with around 10,000 Italian companies. The confederation aims to look for [promising] markets,” such as Egypt.
Romano added that he will return to Cairo in August to discuss several projects with Egypti’s Ministry of Transport, notably in the dry and marine ports field including Alexandria port.
