Italian authorities on Tuesday deported 31 undocumented Egyptian immigrants, after arresting them last week.
The deportees arrived on a private plane coming from Italy's Catania-Fontanarossa Airport to heavy security, security sources at Cairo International Airport said.
The sources also said the deportees had police reports with them from Italy. Egyptian police reports had also been filed for leaving the country illegally.
The immigrants had an agreement with a gang to help them travel, paying the group LE35,000, the sources said.
They had left on board a boat that sailed from Alexandria to Italy.
