Fourteen Italian tourists and seven Egyptians were rescued after a tourist boat sank on Tuesday in Marsa Alam on the Red Sea due to bad weather.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
The boat, carrying 14 Italians and seven-member Egyptian crew, sank in the Sheab Rocky area during a diving trip.
The rescued were transferred from the sunken boat to another nearby boat.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the sunken tourist boat was called “Plant 1”. The water leaked into the body of the boat, which was on a safari trip for two weeks. The rescued tourists were transferred to Hamata Marina, south of Marsa Alam.
