Israeli police have attempted to prevent the Egyptian AlQahera News crew from continuing to cover the protests in Tel Aviv before they resumed work again, according to a report from the news satellite channel on Sunday.
Earlier, the Israeli Medical Association announced it was joining the general strike in Israel on Monday, while emergency departments will continue to operate.
Israeli media reported that more than 100,000 Israeli demonstrators gathered on Sunday in Tel Aviv, in front of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office in occupied Jerusalem.
Protesters denounced what they described as the government’s abandonment of detainees in Gaza Strip, and demanded a prisoner exchange deal, after Israel announced the recovery of the bodies of six detainees.
Media reports said that the demonstrators blocked the Chords Bridge at the entrance to Jerusalem and the police were dispersing them, and several intersections have been closed in more than one location in Israel.
Israeli media confirmed that Netanyahu is concerned about the possibility of the protests increasing significantly, and will follow up to make a decision on his policy regarding negotiations.
