Arab media reported on Wednesday that an Israeli airstrike on a house in the Sheikh Radwan area north of Gaza City resulted in casualties, even after the announcement of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
An Israeli airstrike targeted a house near the Engineers Syndicate in western Gaza City, killing and injuring 18 people.
Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, previously announced that “Qatar, Egypt, and the US are pleased to announce the reaching of an agreement regarding Gaza.”
Al Thani added in a press conference on Wednesday evening, “I thank our partners Egypt and the US for their efforts that contributed to advancing the negotiations.”
He continued, “With the agreement of both negotiating parties, work will continue tonight to complete the executive aspects, and the agreement will come into effect on Sunday, January 19.”
“According to the agreement, Hamas will release 33 hostages in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners,” he added.
