Egyptian Finance Minister Mohamed Maait said that the “2024/2030 tax policy document” is still under study and the government has not yet presented it for community dialogue.
The version of the tax policy document circulating on social media was just an initial concept that was prepared several months ago and had undergone many amendments, he assured.
The minister added that the tax policy document is subject to careful study by Finance Ministry in order to express its goals during the next six years.
The Supreme Committee for Preparing the Tax Policy Document is working on putting the final touches before launching the community dialogue in the coming weeks, he said.
Maait added in a statement on Monday that “We will present the document as soon as it is prepared in its final form.”
“We are keen to benefit from all the distinguished international experiences in establishing the stability of tax policies to improve the business climate and attract more investments,” he said.
