Iraqi Assistant Defense Minister: We need no US forces to secure Baghdad summit

Iraqi Assistant Defense Minister Ayden al-Askari said on Sunday that his country needs no US forces to secure the Arab League Summit, slated to be held in Baghdad in March.

“The Iraqi forces have been in charge of ensuring security in the country for more than a year,” he noted, pointing out that the security plan drawn up by the Iraqi leadership for the summit protects all participants.
