Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation Rania al-Mashat said that the second edition of the National Survey of International Migration for families in Egypt enhances decision-making about the migration phenomenon, its causes and effects.
This came during the minister’s participation – via video conference – in the signing ceremony of a cooperation protocol between the Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to implement the National Survey of International Migration funded by the European Union Delegation in Egypt.
The implementation of the second edition of the survey came as part of Europe’s keenness on addressing the international migration file, said the minister.
The minister, meanwhile, said that the signing of the protocol represents a new step on the path to an extended process of fruitful development partnerships that the Egyptian State is keen to expand.
The minister also lauded the pioneering role of CAPMAS in supporting efforts to launch such a survey.
