Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Hassan al-Khatib affirmed that the ministry will work within the upcoming period to facilitate measures to shift toward clean energy and offer incentives in the eco-friendly activities.
The ministry will also launch initiatives to cover the roofs of free zone facilities with solar cells, he added while paying inspection tour of the Alexandria Free Zone to inspect the new eco-friendly expansions in a number of existing projects.
The zone’s factories adopt various mechanisms to reduce carbon emissions and resource consumption rates, including switching to using solar energy, recycling metals and water, and using modern technologies to reduce waste and double production using the same resources.
