Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim said the ministry has prepared to celebrate the police day and the anniversary of 25 January, in coordination with the armed forces, warning the Muslim Brotherhood from committing any acts of violence during the celebrations, as they would be “confronted with the utmost force.”

“The ministry is ready to secure the celebrations, and the attempts of Brotherhood to bring about violence are monitored,” The minister added. “We have developed a security plan to secure the country in coordination with the armed forces.”

Ibrahim also stressed that prisons and police stations have been provided with a heavy arsenal, not only automatic weapons, and orders have been given to all officers to fire live ammunition in case of any attempts to storm any prison or police station.
