The Interior Minstry has announced various recent successes in capturing prison escapees throughout Egypt, most notably in the Delta governorate of Kafr al-Sheikh, where more than 1000 have reportedly been arrested.
Police also claim to have arrested 70 prison escapees in Cairo and another five in Giza.
In Suez, police say they arrested five people specialized in robbing ships docked at the port.
