Insurance companies to grant compensation for revolution unrest

The total amount of money to be paid by insurance companies to those affected by the 25 January revolution will amount to LE1.2 billion, an official from the insurance sector said.

Alaa al-Zoheiry, a senior official from the Arab Misr Insurance Group, said his company alone will pay out around LE4.9 million in compensation for incidents that took place on 28 and 29 January.

He added that his company is on its way to concluding a deal with Lloyd's, a leading organization in the field, in order to provide insurance coverage against rioting and unrest.
