MPs slam school’s exam asking students to highlight ‘corrupt liberals’

MP Emad Gad, head of the Egyptian Social Democratic Party’s parliamentary bloc, submitted an urgent inquiry on Tuesday regarding a high school exam in which one question slammed liberals in Egypt.

Last week, a question in an exam for the first grade of a high school in Cairo asked students to write about how the Egyptian people after the revolution are aware of the corrupt role that liberal and secular parties play in society.

A photocopy of the exam was disseminated via social networking websites, causing fury against the school and the whole educational system.

MP Bassem Kamel held that the Education Ministry is responsible for what he called “imbalance” in the educational system, adding that the party is against the politicization of education and religion.
