The Al-Qahera News Channel reported on Friday that 19 injured people from the Gaza Strip had arrived at the Rafah crossing for treatment in Egypt.
This follows after fuel trucks and humanitarian aid began Friday morning to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah land crossing under the supervision of the United Nations and the Egyptian authorities – in accordance with the temporary humanitarian truce agreement between Israel and the Palestinian resistance factions, which entered into force after joint Egyptian, Qatari and US efforts.
A temporary ceasefire
The temporary humanitarian truce began at seven am local time in Gaza, which is scheduled to last four days and can be extended.
The truce on its first day will witness the release of 13 detainees held by Hamas in Gaza, with the initial list including women and children.
In return, 50 Hamas hostages will be released over four days.
Hamas previously outlined the following conditions for the truce:
- A ceasefire by both parties, and a cessation of all military actions by the occupation army in all areas of the Gaza Strip.
- Intensifying the entrance of trucks for humanitarian, relief, medical and fuel aid into all areas of the Gaza Strip.
- The release of 50 women and children of the occupation detainees under the age of 19, in exchange for the release of 150 women and children of our people from the occupation prisons under the age of 19.
- Stopping air traffic in the south for four days.
- Stopping air traffic in the north for six hours a day, from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
- During the truce period, ensuring the freedom of movement of people especially on Salah al-Din Street, so that people can move from the north to the south of the Strip.
