Hurghada receives 30,000 tourists in two days

The past 48 hours saw an increase in the number of European and Russian flights to Hurghada International Airport, with the airport receiving 187 flights that carrying about 30,000 European and Russian tourists.

The airport recorded the highest rate of Russian flights in two days since the resumption of Russian flights to Hurghada after the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war, receiving 12 Russian flights coming from various Russian airports.

The flights were fully reserved, and according to the operating schedule of the flights carried about 3,000 Russian tourists to spend their vacations in hotels and resorts in Hurghada.

The Russian Consul General in Hurghada, Viktor Voropaev, said an increase in the number of Russian flights to Hurghada is expected, as soon as the decision to deal with the transfer of the Russian ruble to the Egyptian pound begins, which represents an additional advantage for tourists who come to Egypt.

He told Al-Masry Al-Youm that this decision will end the problem of remittances and will facilitate payments and purchases by Russian tourists.

On Saturday and Sunday, Hurghada Airport received 175 regular European and charter flights, which carried about 27,000 tourists. Germany topped the list of flights according to the announced operating schedules.
