Hurghada receives 14 flights from Russia on Friday

Fourteen regular and charter flights arrived on Friday coming from Russia to Hurghada International Airport according to the operating schedules of tourist flights coming from Russian airports.

COVID-19 precautionary measures were applied upon tourists’ arrival.

Hotels in the Red Sea are witnessing an increase in occupancy rates of various nationalities, days before the Christmas celebrations.

The operating schedules of flights to Hurghada and Marsa Alam international airports revealed a significant increase in flights from Russia and the Ukraine with the beginning of the winter tourism season.

Charter flights from Russia to the Red Sea resorts resumed earlier in November after a years-long hiatus following the crash of a Russian passenger plane over Sinai due to a terrorist attack.

Irregular flights resumed as well, to the resorts of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, which will contribute to an increase in the flow of tourists from Russia to Egypt.

The resumption of flights from Russia to Egyptian resorts will contribute to boosting tourism in Egypt. Before the suspension of flights, Russia was a major source of tourism in Egypt, which generated billions of dollars annually for the Egyptian treasury.
