Hurghada’s numerous residents were aggravated by inconvenient roadblocks created by Egyptian singer Amr Diab’s concert. Hurghada home-dwellers were blocked from going in and out of their houses until early morning Sunday.
27 year old Rafat abu al-Majd, who lives in Hurgada, said that the concert had police authorities imposing security corridors around vital roads in al-Mamsha al-Sihai area. Residents had to sleep in their cars till the morning following the concert.
The Traffic Department requested citizens heading to Hurghada Promenade (al-Mamasha) to take the Hurghada Airport- al-Kawthar Road (Mubarak 2), from Masri Hospital (Esplanada Square).
The Traffic Department said on its Facebook page that the street of Old Tourist Sheraton would be closed at the Sheraton Hotel, along with Mubarak 2 Street and al-Hadaba Road at Zubarjed Mall all the way up to al-Mohammadi Huwaidq Square.

The company organizing the concert said this was the first time Amr Diab performed a concert in Hurghada. Ticket prices for the show were between LE500 for the standard, and LE1500 for VIP class.
