Universal announced that its “Snow White and the Huntsman” follow-up will be called “The Huntsman: Winter’s War”.
An April 22 release date in the United States has also been confirmed, reports Deadline.
“The Huntsman” will star Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Jessica Chastain and Emily Blunt and serves as a prequel to “Snow White and the Huntsman”, following a younger Queen Ravenna (Theron), who sees her sister, Freya (Blunt), suffer a betrayal and flee their kingdom.
Freya has since spent a decade training huntsmen in a wintry palace when she learns of her sister’s demise and resurrects her using the Magic Mirror.
