Hundreds of supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsy whose family members have been detained pending investigations into incidents that broke out after the mass 30 June protests have blocked the road in front of the High Court of Justice on Monday to call for their release.
The families held pictures of the people arrested since the 30 June protests, as well as photos of Morsy. They also chanted against the Interior Ministry and the Armed Forces, saying, "Down with the rule of the military!" and "the Interior Ministry officers are thugs!"
The Public Prosecution has ordered the detention of hundreds of Morsy supporters in several incidents that erupted after Morsy’s ouster, including violence at the Republican Guard headquarters in Nasr City, and outside the Egyptian Media Production City, as well as in incidents in other governorates.
