Member of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority’s media office Manar Ghanem announced Monday that humidity will increase during Eid al-Adha.
During the Good Morning Egypt program broadcast on state TV, she explained: “We will begin to feel the increase in humidity more than the past days with the extension of the seasonal India monsoon, which is accompanied by air masses coming from the Mediterranean, leading to a significant increase in humidity.”
“It is possible that the humidity levels will rise during this week to much higher degrees, compared to last week. We have a slight rise in temperature from one to two degrees to reach 35-36 degrees Celsius, and the feeling of humidity increases with exposure to direct sunlight, which leads to a feeling of more heat during daylight hours.”
“The weather during the daytime is very hot in most of the governorates, and as for the night periods, we are starting to feel the heat and it is expected that we will continue with the same temperatures until the end of this week, and temperatures in Greater Cairo reach 36C and on the northern coasts they reach 32C. In the south of the country, temperatures exceed 42C, ” she added.
Ghanem said that hot and humid weather may continue from the first day of Eid al-Adha until the end of the week, pointing out that wind activity, the first two days of Eid al-Adha, reduces the feeling of high temperatures: “With the first day of Eid, wind activity can reduce the feeling of humidity”.
