A 3-story house collapsed Saturday evening in Kom al-Akhdar village in Shebin al-Koum, Monufia Governorate, leaving five people injured.
The operation room at the Monufia Ambulance Facility received a report on the incident, upon which eight ambulances were dispatched to the scene, director of the ambulance facility Dr. Amgad Abdel Hamid said, adding that civil protection forces lifted the rubble and recovered five injured workers who were found under the ruins of a workshop on the house’s ground floor.
A security source confirmed that the workers’ health conditions were stable. The collapsed house was roofed with steel, he added,explaining that the roof of the first floor had collapsed during construction of another floor.
A claim was filed on the incident and prosecutors took over investigation.
