Hot, windy, dusty weather for Egypt on Wednesday

Meteorologists anticipate hot and windy weather blowing up dust and sand over most of the country on Wednesday, with more moderate winds at Upper Egypt.

Hot weather is expected for the daytime on Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northeastern coasts and central Sinai, with milder temperatures on the northwestern coasts, moderately hot weather on South Sinai, the Red Sea mountains, and very hot weather on Upper Egypt.

The weather will be mild at night on Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, South Sinai, the Red Sea mountains, and northern Upper Egypt, moderately cold on the northwestern coasts, cold on the northeastern coasts and central Sinai and moderate on southern Upper Egypt.

Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 24C in Alexandria, 34C in Cairo, 37C in Qena, and 38C in Luxor and Aswan.

Winds blowing up sand and dust are expected in Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt, while moderate and occasionally active winds are predicted on northern Upper Egypt.

They will also be active on northwestern coasts, with possible storms in different parts of the northeastern coasts and central Sinai.

Winds will also be active in the Gulf of Suez, disrupting maritime navigation there.

Waves in the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea will be moderate, ranging between 1.5 and two meters in height, with northwestern surface winds on the Mediterranean Sea, and southeastern on the Red Sea.
