Hot, humid weather with rainfall across Egypt on Monday

Meteorologists predict moderately hot and humid weather on Monday during the daytime at Cairo and Lower Egypt, with moderate weather on the northern coasts and very hot temperatures on Upper Egypt and South Sinai.

The weather will grow mild across most parts of the country by night, and moderate on South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt.

Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 30C in Alexandria, 34C in Cairo, 42C in Qena, 43C in Luxor and Aswan.

Mists are expected during the morning hours on Cairo, Lower Egypt, and the northern coasts.

Winds will be northwestern and moderate across most parts of the country, active on South Sinai and western parts of the country, blowing up sand and dust.

Moderate rainfall is expected on the northwestern coasts, South Sinai and Red Sea mountains, while light rainfall is anticipated over northeastern coasts.

Maximum and minimum humidity levels are: 45-89 on the northern coasts, 23-75 at Cairo and Lower Egypt, 22-60 in northern Upper Egypt, and 14-30 at southern Upper Egypt.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said that the country is currently being affected by the Indian summer monsoon, which is typical every summer and makes the country’s weather hotter and more humid.

Waves in the Mediterranean Sea will be rough, ranging between three to four meters in height while waves in the Red Sea will be moderate, ranging between 1.75 and 2.25 meters in height.

Surface winds will be northwestern over both seas.
