Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Thursday attended the signing ceremony of two new partnership contracts between City Edge Developments at the Cabinet headquarters in the new Administrative Capital, on behalf of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, and the Hilton Group, whereby Hilton will manage and operate two hotels in the Maspero Triangle and the Sur Magra al-Oyoun area in Cairo.
The partnership contract was signed by the CEO of City Edge Developments, Mohamed al Dahan, and the Director of Development at Hilton Wissam Diab.
Under the two partnership contracts, the Hilton group will manage and operate the Double Tree by Hilton hotel in the Maspero Triangle towers area, and the Hilton hotel in the Sur Magra al-Oyoun area.
And per the agreement, the Double Tree hotel in Maspero Triangle will operate on June 30, 2028, and the hotel will include 260 rooms and suites.
The group is also scheduled to operate the Hilton Sur Magra al-Oyoun hotel at the end of 2026, with a capacity of 218 rooms and suites, in addition to a number of other services that include ballrooms, a gym, a spa, a swimming pool, and restaurants.
Madbouly praised the signing of partnership contracts upon in two areas that were once considered unsafe slum areas in Cairo before the government stepped in to develop the area.
This partnership comes within the efforts exerted to re-plan a number of areas in Cairo, as part of plans to restore the civilized reputation of Cairo, Minister of Housing Assem al-Gazzar, said.
He stressed the importance of this partnership between two of the largest companies operating in the real estate and hospitality sectors.
The minister explained that City Edge Developments is a leading company in the field of real estate development, and the Hilton Group is one of the most prominent hotel management and operation companies in the world, which will contribute to the development of these two Cairo areas.
City Edge Developments is eager to expand strategic partnerships aimed to further real estate development in Egypt, Dahan said, expressing his happiness at the partnership with Hilton.
He praised the development of the Maspero Triangle and Sur Magra al-Oyoun areas which prompted City Edge Developments to support the efforts of the New Urban Communities Authority in developing the two areas, and to provide exceptional experiences and services to visitors in the future.
The location of the two hotels are of vital importance to Egyptian tourism and the positive return expected from both, he added.
