Valuable books by Nobel Prize winner Dr Ahmed Zewail and articles by the renowned journalist Mohamed Hassanein Heikal will be gifted to Bibliotheca Alexandrina after their families approved to release them on the occasion of their birthdays.
Heikal’s library will add value to Bibliotheca Alexandrina because of rich information his books contain, Director of Alexandria Library, Dr Mustafa al-Feky, said. Heikal’s interviews, articles and photos will be stored on the Memory of Modern Egypt website, he added.
Dr Dima Mohammed al-Faham dedicated the academic books of late Professor Dr Ahmed Zewail to Bibliotheca Alexandrina as well as Zewail University.
Dr Khalid Azab, chief of Projects Sector at Bibliotheca Alexandrina, said a memorial book on Zewail will be released in cooperation between Bibliotheca Alexandrina and Zewail University on occasion of his birth.
Meanwhile, Bibliotheca Alexandrina will found a think-tank for preparing policy papers and feasibility studies on Egypt and the Arab region, in addition to studying the aggravation of international conflicts and the impacts of information technology on local communities in Egypt.
