Heavy rains, hot weather expected for Tuesday

Egypt’s meteorologists predict hot weather on Tuesday across most parts of the country, with heavy rains in some parts.

Hot weather will prevail in Lower Egypt, Cairo, northern Upper Egypt, and the northeastern coasts on Tuesday, with higher temperatures expected across southern Upper Egypt. The weather will grow milder throughout the country at night.

Maximum temperatures expected for the following cities are 29C in Alexandria, 33C in Cairo, 37C in Aswan and Luxor, and 36C in Qena.

Mild weather is also expected along the northern coasts.

Mist will impact visibility in the morning in the country’s northern parts. Low- and medium-level clouds will cover most parts of the country, accompanied by rainfall in the southern parts, South Sinai, the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea mountains.

Rains will be heavy sometimes and may cause flooding in some areas. Light rainfall may extend to Cairo.

Winds will be northwestern and moderate. They will be active on southern Upper Egypt and the Gulf of Suez, disrupting maritime navigation there.

Waves in the Mediterranean Sea will be low to moderate and will range between one and 1.5 meters, while waves in the Red Sea will be moderate and will range between 1.5 and two meters. Northwestern surface winds are expected for both seas.
