Health Ministry takes emergency measures to prepare for bad weather

The Ministry of Health has decided to adopt special procedures at all ambulance and emergency units across Egypt, to be prepared for any accidents that might be caused by poor weather.

Abdel Rahman Shaheen, Health Ministry spokesperson, stressed the necessity for ambulance units to be staffed with paramedics ready to deal with emergency cases.

Shaheen added that the emergency chambers at all Egyptian ambulance authorities are always notified of accidents.

Shaheen said Hatem al-Gebaly, Egypt's Health Minister, has ordered that all directors be present, with their cell phones switched on. “Shift schedules should be planned in all governorates to cover the whole 24 hours. All ambulances must be checked, and medical equipment provided.”
