Minister of Health and Population Maha al-Rabbat announced that 55 patients have died of the H1N1 virus, otherwise known as the swine flu, since last December and that 595 others caught the virus.
Rabbat added in a press conference Tuesday that the ministry would distribute 300,000 booklets to students at the start of the new semester to raise awareness of the virus.
The Health Ministry had announced previously on Saturday that the swine flu death toll had reached 52 since December out of 424 cases of infection.
