Dr. Amr Qandil, head of the Preventive Medicine Department of the Health Ministry, said in a press statement on Monday that there are only nine cases of hepatitis B recorded in Monufiya, denying claims on Facebook that the virus was spreading there.
He added that high temperatures in the summer increase the frequency of disease, attributing the nine cases to lack of hygiene.
