Health Min Launches 2nd Phase Of Early Detection Of Tumors In 9 Governorates

Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar launched on Wednesday 5/6/2024 the second phase of early detection and treatment of tumors in nine governorates.

The nine governorates are Cairo, Menoufiya, Red Sea, Kafr al-Sheikh, Sohag, Ismailia, Beni Suef, North Sinai and Luxor. The first phase includes Alexandria, Beheira, Marsa Matrouh, Damietta, Qalyubiya, Fayyoum, Assiut, South Sinai and Port Said.

This came during a roundtable organized by the Health Ministry on the sidelines of the exhibition of the Africa Health ExCon from June 3-6, under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

The initiative falls under the umbrella of the larger “100 Million Healthy Lives Presidential Initiative” to protect citizens’ health and social security.

The initiative targets early free of charge detection and treatment of lung, prostate, colon and cervical cancer, with the aim of limiting cancer mortality rate and mitigating financial burden on late stage cases.
