Al-Ahly’s junior table tennis player Hana Gouda, winner of the African Champions title, topped the Arab and African classifications of the International Table Tennis Federation, climbing ten places to reach the 33rd place globally.
Gouda wrote on her Facebook account: “Good morning, praise be to God. My international ranking for women progressed from 43rd to 33rd place globally, and my ranking under 19 years old advanced to second place. I ranked #1 under 15 and 17 years old globally.”
The rising Egyptian star won the African Table Tennis Championships in the women’s singles competitions earlier in May.
Gouda, 14, beat Nigeria’s Fatima Bello in the final match of the tournament in the women’s singles competitions 4-0, which was held on Tuesday in Lagos, Nigeria.
This title is Gouda’s first African title at the level of women’s singles competitions.
Gouda became the youngest player to win the African Table Tennis Championship in the women’s singles competitions.
