Hajj Egyptian death toll reaches 39: Health Ministry

The death toll of Egyptian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia has reached 39, after two pilgrims passed away from health complications on Thursday according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

Official ministry spokesman Khalid Megahed reported the two dead pilgrims are Mahmoud al-Saied Ahmed Mohammed from Alexandria, 63, and Gamea Abdelhamed Ahmed Hammad from Aswan, 81.

The two pilgrims experienced a severe drop in blood and respiratory circulation during the pilgrimage rituals, causing them to pass away.

The medical mission for Egyptian pilgrims coordinated with the Saudi Kingdom to extract formal certificates of death.

The mission’s delegation also checked the health condition of several Egyptian pilgrims who were transferred to Mina Emergency Hospital for treatment.
