The Cairo Criminal Court decided to put off the trial of former interior minister Habib al-Adly until Sunday, in order to hear the prosecution's testimony and include the results of investigations by the Money Laundering Combating Unit.
Al-Adly faces charges of profiteering, money laundering and willfully wasting public money.
On Saturday the Criminal Court was due to hold the trial's second session. Security was intensified for al-Adly's arrival.
He is also charged with the premeditated killing of protesters, attempted murder, damage to public and private property, damage to the economic status of the country, the creation of a security void, and the intimidation of citizens during the 25 January Revolution.
