H1N1 testing at points-of-entry canceled

The Health Ministry has decided to cancel mandatory H1N1 testing at airports and other points of entry into Egypt. According to ministry spokesman Abdel Rahman Shahin, all arriving passengers to have been quarantined so far proved to have only minor illnesses.

Sources at Cairo Airport’s quarantine facility said that passengers had showed considerable annoyance by the testing, which no longer make sense since the virus has already spread in Egypt.

To date, 14087 infections have been recorded in Egypt, of which 195 have been fatal.
