The organizer of the Gulfood and GulfHost events, the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC), has announced the regional finalist teams for its Gulfood YouthX culinary competition.
This competition, organized in partnership with the International Center for Culinary Arts, aims to promote the talented young chiefs working in some of the region’s most acclaimed restaurants and hotels.
With themes of ‘sustainability’ and ‘no waste’, ten teams of three people each got to work in the ‘Culinary Casting’ qualifier round at Dubai’s International Center for Culinary Arts.
Their goal? Prepare a three-course menu built around sustainability themes.
A jury of leading industry experts will judge the team’s hard work, carefully scrutinizing their choices, usage of ingredients and overall vision for their menu.
The four lucky teams picked for the free-to-attend regional finals at GulfHost, November 9 are the Grosvenor House, Sofitel ‘The Obelisk’, Burf al-Arab and Jumeirah al-Qasr.
Winners will have a chance to win prizes worth 100,000AED (LE535,837) alongside other goodies such as case prizes for each chief.
The competition ends on February for a climatic showdown for the ultimate prize of a one-week internship at a Michelin three-star restaurant for the last team standing.
