Guidance Bureau trial postponed to 20 September

Cairo Criminal Court on Monday postponed the trial of Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie, his deputy Khairat Al-Shater and 15 other leaders of the group in the case known as the “Guidance Bureau” violence to 20 September to hear the public prosecutor. 
 
Lawyer Mohamed Al-Damaty, chief of the defense, questioned the forensic report on the killing of a victim in the case.
 
The trial includes group leading figure Rashad Bayoumi, Saad al-Katatni, head of the Freedom and Justice Party, his deputy Essam al-Erian, Mohamed al-Beltagy, member of the party’s executive office, Mohamed Mahdi Akef, the former supreme guide, Osama Yassin, former youth minister and Ayman Hodhod, former advisor to the president.
 
They are charged with murder, incitement of the murder of the opponents of the group, attempted murder, possession of firearms and live ammunition, forming an armed gang to terrorize innocent citizens, bullying, committing violent acts outside the Guidance Bureau in Moqattam and killing nine people and injuring 91 others in June 2013 following the ouster of President Mohamed Morsy.
