Gov’t working to make Alexandria luring spot for various investments: Cabinet spox

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired a meeting on Tuesday to follow up the implementation status of service and development projects under way in Alexandria.

The meeting covered drinking water and sanitation projects pursued in the governorate to fulfill its current and future development needs, according to Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad.

It also highlights the importance attached by the political leadership to turning the north coastal governorate into an attractive spot for various investments in the tourism, service, and industrial sectors, the spokesman said.

He added that the Strategic Urban Planning for Alexandria City till 2032 reflects the governorate’s vision for development and the significant shift it will bring up by creating new urban expansions and achieving comprehensive development, in line with Egypt sustainable development strategy for 2030.

The meeting also highlighted the government’s strong commitment to improving slum areas in coordination with the Slums Development Fund.

The ministers of housing and local development, the governor of Alexandria, the chief of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, and the director of the National Center for Planning State Land Uses attended the meeting, along with Presidential Adviser for Urban Planning Maj. Gen. Amir Sayyed Ahmed.
