The Immigration and Expatriates Affairs Ministry has begun preparing a database of Egyptian expatriate organizations abroad.
Minister Nabila Makram urged expatriate clubs and associations on Wednesday to provide the ministry with the registration numbers of each organization in their host country, along with the names of board members.
The organizations are also required to inform the ministry of the mechanisms by which board members were elected, the number of years spent in office and the services they have provided to Egyptian communities abroad.
The census is designed to establish "genuine communication with representatives of Egyptian communities abroad,” the minister stated.
