The cabinet examined ways to distribute butane gas cylinders and food to curb price increases before the Eid holiday next week at its meeting Wednesday.
The cabinet will also supply co-ops with basic foodstuffs and meat for inexpensive prices, as well as more cylinders to distribution outlets.
Meanwhile, 80-octane petrol is unavailable in many governorates, forcing drivers to queue in gas stations for the more expensive 90-octane fuel.
The armed forces is also distributing 180,000 food containers in several governorates to help meet the Eid demand.
