The cabinet media center dismissed as baseless news on the use of internationally-banned growth hormones in the production of meat.
In a statement on Tuesday, the center said it contacted the National Food Safety Authority which denied the news as bare of truth.
The authority stressed that meat available in the market are safe and free from any internationally-banned hormones.
It added that intensive campaigns are launched in all markets to ensure safety of meat.
The center called on social media users to verify the authenticity of the news circulated to avoid perplexing public opinion.
