TV talk show hosts criticized the government of Prime Minister Sherif Ismail on Tuesday for mishandling the declaration that the Russian plane crashed from a bomb explosion.
Wael al-Ibrashi of the Dream 2 channel said statements by officials indicate that they do not know how to take such matters seriously and how to manage crises.
Amr Abdel Hamid of the Ten channel said the government kept coming up with the same statements even when it was discovered that the crash was a result of a bomb explosion.
Ibrahim Eissa of the Al-Kahera Wal Nas channel said the Civil Aviation Ministry should not speak about this incident at all, adding that all the officials are but pencil pushers waiting for instructions from above.
Lamis al-Hadidi of the CBC channel said the press conference that the government held came nine hours late and did not say anything new. “The prime minister, the interior minister and the aviation minister all looked confused in the conference,” she said. “They did not have any information.”
