The Governor of UAE’s Sharjah Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed al-Qassimi on Saturday returned to Egypt 425 ancient Egyptian artifacts, as a gesture of appreciation to Egypt’s actively educational role in the Arab world, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
The artifacts date back to different periods – from pre-dynastic times in the fourth millennium BC to the dynasties of the ancient, middle, and modern kingdoms, the Ptolemaic dynasty, the Roman era, and the Coptic era, the WAM added.
These artifacts include colored wooden coffins, human and animal mummies, necklaces, bracelets with precious gemstones, grapes, animal statues shaped like birds and fish, and wooden, stone, bronze and ceramic statues of gods such as Amun-Ra and Isis.
The Emirate of Sharjah had previously returned 345 Egyptian artifacts in 2019.
