Government’s policy program to be submitted to parliament by mid-March: PM

The Egyptian government will submit its policy program during the second half of March, said Prime Minister Sherif Ismail.

In a televised interview on Monday aired on Egyptian satellite TV channel, Ismail said, “We are preparing the strategy program. We spoke to the MPs who represent the people in parliament to acknowledge their viewpoints on problems. We are also speaking to journalists as they are in communication with people.”

“Our program is clear. It serves the citizen and renders the services that he needs either in education, health or housing,” he said, adding, “It focuses on social justice and improving the performance and work of the government.”

Ismail described parliament as a ‘friend’ of the government, adding that it is one of Egypt's pillars of democracy. “It will facilitate the work of the government and there will be full coordination with it. It will support us in decisions that the government needs to issue.”

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, according to Ismail, follows up with the ministers on a daily basis.
